If you prefer to organize your stay in Cusco your own way, day tours let you choose what to visit each day without committing to a fixed package. They depart from Cusco, include transportation and a guide, and you return to the city in the afternoon or evening. You can combine them with your own hotel or ask us to put together the whole trip for you.
A tour of the city and its nearby archaeological sites, in a small group of up to 16 people. It is the ideal excursion for your first day, while you acclimatize.
Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero in one day, with a buffet lunch in Urubamba. There is a regular and a VIP version.
The Maras salt pans and the circular terraces of Moray, with tickets included. It is short and easy to combine.
A less-traveled route south of Cusco, with entry to Andahuaylillas.
We recommend doing these two after at least two days in Cusco. The hike is not technical, but the air is thin and you move slowly.
You can also go to Machu Picchu and back on the same day with the Machu Picchu Day Tour, which includes train, bus, ticket and guide. If you want to arrive on foot, the 1-day Inca Trail covers about 11 km from Km 104 and enters the citadel through the Sun Gate. Both require booking in advance because of limited ticket capacity.
An order that works well for four or five days: city tour on the first day, Sacred Valley or Maras and Moray on the second, Machu Picchu on the third, and Humantay or Rainbow Mountain at the end, when you are already acclimatized. If you have only two or three days, prioritize the city tour and Machu Picchu, and add Maras and Moray if you have a free morning left.
Keep in mind that on most excursions you leave early, especially Humantay and Rainbow Mountain, where pickup is usually before dawn. Always bring layered clothing: in Cusco the mornings are cold and the midday sun is strong. If you tell us your dates, we will suggest a combination and send you the quote.
