Cancellation and Refund Policy
Deadlines, refund percentages and non-refundable services.
A tailor-made trip involves immediate payments to local suppliers, tickets to archaeological sites and transportation. For that reason, every cancellation by the traveler is subject to a retention to cover administrative costs, fees and third-party penalties. This policy is part of the Terms and Conditions. Version in effect as of October 9, 2026.
1. Non-refundable services
The following items are not refunded once issued, regardless of the cancellation date:
- Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain and Inca Trail tickets: they are issued in the holder's name for a fixed date and cannot be refunded or transferred to another holder.
- Trains and domestic flights: subject to each company's conditions.
- Bank, transfer and payment platform fees.
2. Cancellation deadlines
Cancellations must be communicated in writing to reservas@inkainspiretours.com. The refund is calculated on the total amount paid, less any non-refundable services already issued:
| Notice before the start of the trip | Refund |
|---|---|
| 45 days or more | 70% |
| 30 to 44 days | 50% |
| Less than 30 days or no-show | 0% |
3. Date changes
We prefer to reschedule rather than cancel. We arrange the change subject to availability; fare differences and third-party penalties are borne by the traveler, and Machu Picchu tickets must be purchased again because they cannot be rescheduled.
4. Cancellations by us or due to force majeure
- If we cancel for reasons attributable to us: we refund 100% of the amount paid or provide an alternative trip, at your choice.
- In the event of force majeure (closures, strikes, weather, decisions by authorities): we reschedule or refund whatever the suppliers reimburse, less non-recoverable costs.
5. How refunds are paid
Refunds are paid by the same method as the original payment (bank transfer or WeTravel), in USD, within 30 days after the cancellation is confirmed. Bank fees for the refund are deducted from the amount.
6. Cancellation insurance
We recommend purchasing travel insurance with cancellation coverage, which may cover the non-refundable portion in the event of illness, emergency or force majeure.
