Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco
We pick you up at your hotel very early, between about 4:00 and 6:30 a.m., depending on the train schedule you choose and where your hotel is. You travel about 2 hours by car to the Ollantaytambo station, and there you take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), a trip of about 1 hour and 45 minutes along the Vilcanota River.
At the Aguas Calientes station, our representative meets you and accompanies you to the tourist bus, which climbs for about 30 minutes to the Machu Picchu entrance. With your guide, you spend about 2 hours visiting the main areas of the Inca citadel, including the Main Plaza or Main Temple, the Circular Tower, the Intihuatana, the Royal Quarters, and the Temple of the Three Windows.
Afterward, you take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you have lunch at a restaurant (included). In the afternoon you take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our representative waits to drive you to Cusco. You arrive at your hotel in the evening, around 9:00 p.m., depending on the train you take.
