Chonta Canyon and the Condors
We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco's historic center at the agreed time, and you travel through the Andean countryside between small villages, farm fields and mountains. Along the way you visit or pass near Quillarumiyoc, the Moon Stone, linked to Inca astronomy and Andean ceremonies, and Tarawasi, an Inca archaeological center in the Limatambo area.
In the community of Chonta you begin a scenic walk of 1 to 1.5 hours, at low to moderate difficulty, to the natural lookouts over the Apurímac canyon, where you can see the Andean condor in its habitat. Then you walk back to the vehicle and return to Cusco, arriving in the afternoon or evening.
