Itinerary
The City Tour is on your arrival day at 12:30 p.m., and Rainbow Mountain departs at 4:00 a.m.; depending on the season, the train departs from Poroy or Ollantaytambo.
We'll meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. At 12:30 p.m. the tour begins at the Plaza Mayor, with its colonial architecture; the Qoricancha, the greatest expression of Inca architecture, today the Santo Domingo Convent; and the Cusco Cathedral, in Renaissance and colonial style.
You finish at the four archaeological sites near the city: Sacsayhuamán, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay, and return to your hotel.
Overnight: Cusco
After breakfast you go to the Poroy or Ollantaytambo station, depending on the season, and take the train to Machu Picchu. At the town station we help you board the bus that climbs with views of the Urubamba River canyon.
With a guide you tour the terraces, staircases, ceremonial areas, and urban sectors of the citadel. Then you have lunch at a restaurant in the area and, at the scheduled time, take the train to Ollantaytambo and the transfer to Cusco.
Overnight: Cusco
We pick you up at 4:00 a.m. and head toward the slopes of the Ausangate snow peak. You have breakfast in the village of Cusipata and, after a short briefing, hike for about 3 hours with a professional guide, learning about the customs and beliefs of the mountain range. You have lunch back in Cusipata and reach your hotel around 4:30 p.m.
Overnight: Cusco
After breakfast, at the scheduled time, we take you to Cusco Airport for your flight.
Machu Picchu tickets and Inca Trail permits are issued through the Peruvian government in each traveler’s name (full name and ID or passport number) and must be paid in advance. Once issued, they are non-refundable and non-transferable. See cancellation terms
